Ugh! Two days ago, I woke up with a mild sore throat, but yesterday is when it hit me. At 4:30 am on Sunday morning, I got up coughing and it felt like knives were piercing my throat and the left side of my face hurt from sinuses. I said to myself, ‘Uh-uh! I don’t need to suffer through this.’ One thing that I hate, is spiky feeling sore throats.
So I went out to make me some chamomile tea w/honey and lemon. Then I remembered reading somewhere that coconut oil, or was it vinegar that helps with sore throats. So I Googled both. I ended up doing both for good measure. I gargled vinegar water every hour from 4:30-7:30, when I went back to bed, and I took a tablespoon of coconut oil the first hour.
By the time I went to bed, the spiky feeling had gone, but my throat was still sore. I could swallow fine, it was just when I coughed that I felt it, but it was bearable now.
I continued to gargle throughout the day and I took 2 more tablespoons of coconut oil throughout the day.
The kids were wonderful, they took care of me all day, checking in on me to see if I needed anything. I had fun ringing the little bell. 🙂
I slept good on and off all day, I read my Bible, did some puzzles and read a book. I couldn’t help thinking of all those people in a hospital recovering how antsy they must get. My rear would get tired and I would have to read on my side. It certainly made me thankful that it was just a sore throat and sinus issues.
Today, I am staying in bed too because I am tired galore. Even though my sore throat is gone and the pain in my face is gone, my body is ever so tired.
The kids again are stepping up.
